The Oakmont Alliance Walkathon
to Benefit Central Valley Matters
Our democracy is in danger. With the Presidency and Senate at risk, our best insurance is Democratic control of the House. And that's why this year we are joining tens of thousands of Californians in an effort to flip Central Valley House seats now held by Republicans. On Saturday, June 22, from 8:00 AM to noon, Oakmonters will be participating in a Walkathon to raise money for Central Valley Matters, a coalition of 30 volunteer groups in California's Central Valley working to strengthen democracy and activate disenfranchised communities.

Here are three ways you can participate in the walkathon:
Be a Walker

Join your friends and neighbors for a fun morning of walking and talking. Dogs are welcome. Here's what to know:

Reach out to potential sponsors and ask for their support. Click below for a script you can copy or create your own.

The walk begins at 8 AM and ends at noon. We start at the West Rec picnic area. You can begin and end at any time during that period.

There are three loops of varying lengths to choose from. You can do one or all of them as many times as you wish. Click below for the map and course descriptions.

Supporter contributions should be based on dollars per mile. You can download a Pledge Form below to keep track of your supporters.

Keep track of your miles and once you finish you can let your supporters know how many miles you walked and where to donate the amount they pledged.

Volunteers will provide support and refreshment along the routes.
